Humphrey succeeded his father as Earl of Hereford and Essex in 1298. He opposed the Despensers, joined the rebellion of Thomas Earl of Lancaster, and was killed while trying to force the bridge at Boroughbridge.
Elizabeth - also known as Elizabeth of England - was born at Rhuddlan Castle in Flintshire. She died in childbirth.
